Increase Conversions on Your WordPress Website with AB Testing

Are you looking to get more people to sign up for your newsletter or download your lead magnet on your WordPress website? AB testing is a powerful tool that can help you achieve this by identifying which version of your content converts better.

In this blog post, we’ll walk you through how to install an AB split testing plugin on WordPress, set up your first test, and explain how it works.

What is AB Testing?

AB testing is a marketing research technique that pits two versions of a webpage element (A and B) against each other to see which one performs better. This “better performance” can be measured by a variety of factors, such as the number of signups, downloads, or purchases.

Installing the AB Split Testing Plugin

  1. Download the plugin (a link will be provided in the video description).
  2. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Add New –> Plugins –> Upload Plugin.
  3. Choose the downloaded zip file and click Install Now.
  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin.

Creating Your First AB Test

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to AB Split –> Create a Test.
  2. Give your test a name (e.g., “First Headline Test”).
  3. Choose the type of test you want to run. In this case, select On-page Elements. This allows you to compare different versions of a single element, like a headline or image.
  4. Scroll down and select your Conversion Trigger. This is the action you want visitors to take, such as clicking a “Subscribe” button.
  5. In the Visitor Segmentation section, you can choose to exclude logged-in users (like yourself) from being counted in the test results.
  6. Set your Traffic Allocation. This determines the percentage of visitors who will see version A or B of your test. The default setting is 50/50.
  7. You can also set an Automatic Stop for the test. This will automatically choose the winning version (the one with the most conversions) after a set number of days or page views.

Running the Test

Once you’ve created your test, simply publish it and let the plugin do its work! The plugin will automatically show version A or B of your test to your visitors and track the conversion rates.

By following these steps, you can easily set up AB testing on your WordPress website and start optimizing your content for better conversions.
